The Four Horsemen of the UK Fisheries Policy Apocalypse
The Four Horsemen of the UK Fisheries Apocalypse is a design-led exposé of the policies and power structures driving the collapse of Britain’s seas, and a vision for how to restore them.
Drawing inspiration from Albrecht Dürer’s apocalyptic woodcuts and reimagined with tattoo artist Jed Pyper, the report merges art, activism, and evidence. Using contemporary blackletter typography and stark medieval imagery, it personifies the four forces devastating UK waters (overfishing, inequitable quotas, harmful subsidies, and failing marine protection) and sets out four clear remedies to fend off collapse.
